About

Who Am I, and Why Did I Leave Clinical Medicine?

My name is Dr. Ayomide Owodunni, a trained medical doctor with a passion that grew beyond prescriptions and daily ward rounds.

I practiced medicine for a while, diagnosing, treating, prescribing, and carrying the weight of caring for lives. But the deeper I got into practice, the more I noticed a critical gap.

Many patients I encountered presented with more than just symptoms. They came with untold stories that manifested through their conditions. They showed clear evidence of lacking the basic knowledge needed to make health-conscious decisions and take charge of their well-being.

The truth hit me hard: If most of these patients had access to the right information, they would have made different choices. We would have seen better health outcomes. Instead, they were unheard, misinformed, and overwhelmed.

There was a gap that desperately needed bridging. More patients needed this vital information at their fingertips—in ways they could actually understand.

I witnessed countless patients arriving with 100% preventable conditions. Or at minimum, conditions whose devastating effects could have been significantly reduced with earlier access to proper information.

Their stories broke my heart. A lot of patients, especially women, have complaints of being dismissed by previous doctors, being confused about their cycles and hormones, and suffering in silence because “that’s just how it is for women.”

That’s when I realized medicine alone wasn’t enough.

So I made a bold, unconventional decision: I stepped away from clinical practice to become a medical writer and educator and women’s health advocate.

Why Write and Educate?

Being a medical writer and educator allows me to do what hospital walls often prevent: turn confusing health data into clear, accurate, and actionable information to empower patients, reaching thousands of people through teaching and writing.

I also employ the use of a tool that can reach places where raw science sometimes can’t: storytelling. Through storytelling, I make health information clear, relatable, and memorable. Everyone connects with and learns from powerful stories—whether they end in triumph or tragedy. Every story represents someone’s lived experience that has the power to transform another life.

Women’s health advocacy flows naturally from my own journey. As a woman who has personally struggled with common women’s health challenges, I intimately understand the frustration of seeking answers and finding none. The desperate need for companionship and understanding that goes unmet.

Now I’m truly fulfilled because I create lasting impact through words that live on blogs, social media, websites, newsletters, digital products, and most importantly, in people’s hearts.

What Do I Do Now?

I leverage my medical background to help health-conscious individuals, brands, and organizations create content that is:

  • Accurate (because health misinformation literally kills)
  • Relatable (because people remember what resonates with their hearts)
  • Empowering (especially for women navigating confusing, isolating health journeys)

As a medical writer and educator, I transform complex health information into content that genuinely empowers people—through articles, guides, social media posts, and digital tools.

As a women’s health advocate, I create content, tools, and safe spaces where women can finally understand their symptoms and make truly informed choices—armed with knowledge that should have always been theirs.

Whether crafting an Instagram post, developing a comprehensive PCOS resource, writing website copy for a wellness brand, or creating an in-depth blog post on hormone health, I weave science and story together seamlessly.

In a bid to achieve this aim, I’ve successfully created a unique brand, “Better Woman Health,” that helps to reach as many women as possible just where they are.

What is Better Woman Health?

Better Woman Health is my platform and brand focused on empowering women with the knowledge and resources they need to take charge of their health.

Through this initiative, I want to:

Share educational articles and posts that break down intimidating health topics into simple, actionable language that women can understand and immediately implement.

Provide practical, actionable tools like checklists, e-books, and videos that help women move from just knowing about their health to actually taking steps toward better health every day.

Host health talks and webinars where women can ask questions, share their experiences, and have conversations that meet their real needs.

Build supportive learning communities where women can explore their unique health needs, ask difficult questions, and unlearn harmful myths while embracing empowering truths.

Because every woman deserves access to clear, truthful, and compassionate health education.

My Mission?

I’m here to:

Educate women with crystal clarity by sharing information that breaks down common health issues.

Help people and purpose-driven brands transform dry health information into stories that heal, connect, and spark real change.

Create sustainable, purpose-driven impact through a growing body of work—articles, digital products, books, workshops, and webinars—that continues educating and empowering women long after our direct interaction ends.

I’m here for the girl frantically googling “Why is my period so painful?” at 2 AM.

I’m here for the woman who believes she’s completely alone in dealing with hormonal chaos.

I’m here for the brand desperately trying to reach and genuinely serve these women.

I write for them. I write for you.

If you’re a brand, coach, health expert, or organization seeking content that doesn’t just inform but truly transforms, I’m ready to help.

Let’s harness the undeniable power of storytelling to educate, inspire, and create the real impact this world desperately needs.
